short shifter

I just bought this 98gt he has a short shifter in it and am having troublr with 3rd and 4th gears will go from 4th to third but i havr trouble going from 2nd to third any help out there

just sounds to me like you have not yet learned where the gears are. its a new car to you so its understandable.
