Default exuast system with flowmaster? not loud

Well im new to this site and to mustang's. Very nice site by the way. I was wondering. I just had two flowmaster 40 series muflers put on and there not no where near some what i heard. The car is set up with CA emissions. it came with 6 converters but the shop took 4 off so I only have 1 on each side. Do i have to have them taken off to to get so noise or do I need headers. It's a 1998 GT. thanks for your help. dont get me wrong you can hear them a little but I would of like a lot more. Oh alomost forgot the 4 cats that came off were getting clogged pretty good. a lot of debri came out. Thanks

Did you dump the exhaust or do you still have the pipes? Personally, I have always liked the sound of the modded 4.6. Check out this link and listen to some other exhaust notes. Maybe it will help you compare. https://mustangforums.com/m_2658946/tm.htm

any amount of cats will kill the growl of a car. plusif your car has stock exhaust, it is 2.25" . best bet, buy an off road (catless) 2.5"H or X pipe , (4.6's like X pipes more) and then work on getting some shorty headers. good choice on the muffler, typical, but good lol.... i have 40 series on my car also. also be aware if the mufflers were used they probably broke apart inside and clogged itself. ive had the problem before.

yes. it is stock exuast. I just bought it everything is stock except an extra dront end support under the engine bay. what is the catless x pipe. do they just go away with the top cats. the onyl cats on it now is the top ones closest to exuast manifolds.

well i just put on new headers with a catless hpipe this weekend. i have flows on the back also.
and its not even as loud as i want. i think maybe an xpipe would be louder than an h but its still not loud enough for me.
but i dont know what else i can do to make it any louder. and yes the catless xpipe has NO cats on it at all. and if you live in a state that has emissions i would stick with cats tho. cause no cats wont pass emissions.

yeah i have the regualr american thunder delta 40 catback but im prob gonna cut them off and go with the SUPER 40's ..... they sound crisper than the reg. 40'saccording to the sound sample at flowmasters site. by the way, does anyone have a link to a site with mustang exhaust clips with the new flowmaster super 44's or 40's? its hard to judge when the the F%ckin sample clip is of a sh1tty dodge.
