Default Conical Air filter

Can somebody link me to a thread that shows step by step how to clean a conical air filter, or can somebody just tell me? It's on a 2006 GT mustang with a C&L Racer intake. How should I clean this thing? Thanks!!

Default RE: Conical Air filter

If it is an oil type, get the K&N filter cleaning kit from any auto store. It comes with a spray on cleanser that helps break up the dirt, bugs, etc, then the oil. Spray on the cleanser and let it sit for a while. Then hose it off from the inside out, to wash the dirt out instead of working it back in, and not too much pressure. Let it dry really good before spraying a light layer of oil on the outside only, then re-install it.
