Default Noise Thru Speakers

When ever i have the Radio turned on, i got a steady noise coming thru the speakers.
As I accelerate the noise increases and decreases as i decellerate. If i turn the radio off i no longer get the noise, same applies if i turn the CD player on ( no noise on cd play ). 3 mustangs. 96 99 2000 v6 all of em.

Would I be correct to assume it's a buzzing sound? Usually that's the sign of a bad ground somewhere in the stereo system. Do any of the cars have aftermarket stereo's? Check the ground wires on all components of all of them.

If they are aftermarket decks, you could be getting interference from the ignition system(dont know the tech term), but you can get a noise filter from Radio Shak to correct it.

+1...engine noise is what i believe they call it. i had it with my aftermarket stereo. i replaced my spark plug wires and it wasnt as noticable.

on both mine and my girl friends 04 mustangs we get a tick tick tick kinda sound every once in a while through the speakers but its rare and we have to turn off the car and restart it to get rid of the sound. sorry its not the same problem so that wont help you at all. i would check the grounds and the antenna any damaged wires in eather of those can couse noises

Cheap or damaged spark plug wires? That can cause it. Basically, any cheap wire or bad ground. Or you ran the speaker wires too close to crappy power wires.
