Default Keeping tires race fresh

"Question help please"

I have a Cobra R 2000 its stored at times these tires are high priced soft racing compound from the factory. I put rubber mats under the tires when its sits for months is there any thing you can put on them to help keep the rubber from getting hard dryed out?

Get the car up in the air and take them off, there isn't really much you can do about it.

Default Thanks guys

Thanks I like it a lot.

It is nice to drive the sound is awesome at full throttle rides nice corners are easy sticks good. it has a short shift and shifts quick get up to speed fast the old wine country roads in Napa Calif are fun lots of twists and turns. got on it a lot quick to get to 150mph in such a short distance got to 174mph before just to get the fell of it. I like to take it to an open road track see what it would do as not to hit the rev limiter

They make these things that you put under the tires that are shaped like half circles. I forget what they are called, but I think Summit sells them. You put one under each tire and it prevents the tires from getting flat spots. Maybe someone will know what I'm talking about and point you in the right direction.

Be sure to keep them out of the sun too, other than that there isn't much you can do.

best advice I can give you is to jack up the car and put it on jackstands so the tires are not in contact with the floor but just off it a bit.
this will take all the weight off them so they don't take a set from sitting for months with the car's weight on them. it also will help with the wheel bearings too, especially if you come around every so often and rotate all four wheels so they don't sit in the same place on the bearings all the time. I guess you could also enclose the tires and wheels in some big plastic garbage bags. also make sure to keep the tires away from any electric motors which generate ozone which will attack the tire rubber compound and out of the direct sunlight too.
