Got a lot to learn!

Got a lot to learn!
Damn! Been out of the high performance world for quite a while as I was living life and raising kids. I've got a lot of catching up to do as I'll hopefully be buying a mustang soon. (trying to convince the wife). All kinds of new terms I've never heard before; catback, x pipe, chip etc. I know the boards are a great source of info, but is there any kind of "high performance terms for dummies" site out there?
Last high performance car (if you call it that) I had was a 64 Falcon with a built 289. That was when you could see and reach everything in the engine compartment, a computer filled a room the size of my garage and life revolved around Hurst shifters. If you had duel quads you were the **it.
Now tired of the family crusiers and SUV's and want something fun but have no idea about some of the mods you guys are talking about. Are things really that different or am I just that old?

RE: Got a lot to learn!
This is one of the best boards on the net. People here are more than willing to answer any questions you have. I dont know of any "high performance terms for dummies" sites, but like i said a lot of the people here really know what they are talking about, and are more than willing to help out.

catback is refering to exhaust after the cat converters, chips or programers are for the computers that control the motors and x pipe is a exhaust pipe that usally get rid of the cat converters and equalizies the pressure in the exhaust

just look through things one at at time to see what you want to do to your car. If you have any questions, no matter how simple the answer may be to some of these guys on here, you'll get a straight answer and an explanation if you need one.
