Yea sure,, GM's never have any problems at all

You name the brand and I will find a roomfull of people who will say "I owned a _____ once & had nothing but problems, & will never buy a ____ again"

Problem with your issue is though,, get a stang &every time you have even the slightest problem with ityour buddy will say "see I told you Fords are trouble" lol

Are you his bitch or something? Get what YOU want. All cars have problems at one point or another, but you can prevent that by maintaining it well. Maybe your 'buddy' is just afraid you will get something nicer/faster than what he has.

Its YOUR money and would be YOUR car not yourfriendscar. So do what makes YOU happy.

Does that seem redundant, or is it just me?

Thanks for everyones opinions so far. Yes I can and will make my own decisions on this. It just got me thinking about the reliability of a Mustang and wondering if all the Ford rumors were true or not. Are there any major or common problems that Mustangs are known for that I should be aware of ahead of time?
