Electric Supercharger
Hello Group,
We had our monthly meeting yesterday for the Rim Country Mustang Club, and one of our members asked a question about the electric supercharger, but no one in our club knows anything about them, and the rest didn't even know that there was one even in existance. Here is the web address on what I found on the web search:
http://www.electricchargers.com/order.htm
I would appreciate any help you all can give me on this issue.
Thank you,
Casper

i remember this on tv a while back. just think about it dude, if a 100$ electric supercharger actually increased 30hp, why havent i (and probably you) actually seen it on a car? if it sounds too good to be true. your better off getting a new intake or something with that 100$.
if you remember a product called the turbonator same thing applies. it was a piece of metal that looked like the blades of a fan except it didnt spin. what it supposedly did was force the air comming through your intake to spin, in theory the spinning air is denser and you will get more hp (more air = more fuel). i actually looked around for info on that cuz i was curious. alot of people were posting that YES it boosted power somewhat, but many people were complaining about permanent damage to their cars in the long run.

Superchargers big enough to force air into an engine the size of our 4.6's use about fifty horsepower to get the job done. This applies to the belt driven S/C's people mount in the engine bays of a Mustang.(also why a turbocharger makes more power at the same boost level)
I used to have a link to a site where a real electric supercharger was built butI lost it in a computer explosion.IfI remember correctly the guy used two electric motors weighing a hundred pounds apiece along with batteries to store enough juice to run the motors for a short time when activated. The guy quickly figured out that this was a waste of time and money.
