F**K FORD!!!

Today my bro asks me to take a look at his ranger because it has no brakes. So I inspect it and find that it burst a line right by the gas tank. Upon further inspection I find that it also need wheel cylinders and the lines going to them. I think to myself no big deal. That was until I found out what kind of fuking morons Ford has/had working for them.
The line that goes from the rear ABS modulator to the back of thetruckis 3/16" BUTit has 1/4" line nuts. Also, the line that goes from the master to the rear ABS modulator (its seperate on a ranger and mounted to the frame by the bellhousing), has a METRIC bubble flare fitting that bolts to the master and on the other end itsa STANDARD3/16" inverted flarefitting with the 1/4" tubing nut. [:@][sm=headbang.gif]
And better yet the lines that run to the wheel cylinders have the 1/4" size nut on one end and the standard 3/16" nut on the other!!!![sm=shootshoot.gif]
WTF kind of @sshole does this! No wonder MOST mechanics HATE to work on Fords. Some dumbfuk engineer that probably has NEVER turned a wrench in his life designed this.
OMG I so fukin pissed at Ford right now!!![:@][:@][:@]

I asked the same questionwhen changing the clutch cable on a Harley. They used three different size wrenches to install and adjust the clutch cable.I was told they did this so you wouldn't have to carry two sets of wrenches to be able to do simple repairs along the road.
you do realize that it's not just ford that has problems like this that you ask yourself "wtf were those a-holes thinking when they designed this"
I work on British sports cars all day and every single time I service them I ask the same question, especially Triumph TR6's. It's like they purposely try to make replacing anything a huge project.

this was already hit on, but Ill point it out, an its flaw... they put the different sized nuts on so that you dont have to carry two of every wrench. if you develop a brake leak and want to try just snugging it together a bit wold you rather just have to have one set of wrenches (ie 1/4 - 1") or would you preferr to have to carry say, two 1/4" wrenches and two 3/8th" wrenches? I have a small set of wrenches that I leave in my car, I believe I have 1/8th - 3/4. now if all th nuts were the same size I would have to carry doubles of the wrenches incase I need to do work.
Now for the flaw.... Why the F@#K do they always mix metric and english sizes? Working on my 1970 Norton Combat Commando motorcycle is even worse, as they also use a THIRD type of wrenches, WhitWorth!!
