Default Trans Fluid

My T 45 has been acting up and im thinking about changing the fluid for it. I know ford calls for ATF in these (which is Stupid), but i was wondering if i could put in some sort of synchromesh fluid. Like a royal purple or the GM synchromesh with friction modifyer. Will i be hurting the synchros by adding it. Any input would help.

Just get a synthetic ATF, like Amsoil. It works just fine, and is actaully better than the synchromesh fluids.
