Default Original G-Tech Pro

Hello everyone. I just thought I'd look at how much a new g-tech pro goes for and to my surprise they are $200. So I decided to check out e-bay fore the older models. The original g-tech pros are going for as little as $25. Is this a good deal? How accurate are the originals compared to the new ones? What do you guys think? Thanks.

What do you run?

I would say buy one, take it to the track &/or dyno, run, & see how accurate it was.

Well, the last time I went to the track I was stock and ran a 14.3 @100. I didn't understand why the g-tech said 14.2 @105. I had decent traction? I want to try one of the new ones though.

see the thing i dont understand is: what if you have 3.73 gears and do a run and it tells u, ur ET is 12 seconds and calculates that to 400 HP. Then what if u changed ur gears to 4.30 and had an ET of 11 seconds and it tells u ur hp is 500hp.... really ur HP never changed... Does anyone see what im saying?

if u put in the wight of ur car then they can tell u your hp by ur run. But different gears would throw that off

yes, different gears will throw it off. With gears the only way you'll know is on a dyno. I had one of those older g-techs before. They are always off by a few mph. They give you a good idea of what you will do when you go to the track though.
