it's best to get a door clip removal tool from the local auto parts store so you don't break the clips while removing the interior door panel to get access to the window. use this tool around the edges of the door panel to pop the panel clips loose from the holes in the door frame after removing the bolts in the arm rest. you also need to remove the covers for any switches mounted in the door and unplug the wiring connectors too. once the entire door panel is loose, remove it and set it aside. there is usually a piece of oiled paper covering the door frame which you then carefully loosen and remove also. this will expose the large openings through which you can get access to the bolts holding the window to the regulator framework so you can remove the window.

the newer stangs do not have the old style clips that hold the door pannel on. You pop out the hand hole deal remove 2 screws and push up on the door panel.
Viza was asking the question for me. I have the door panel off and the plastic backing, I just don't want to start removing all the tracks and other stuff I don't have too.
I have removed the top trim rails from the top of the door and removed the stops.
Do I have to remove all the tracks and motor or casn I get away with just remnoveing???????????????
Thanks for any and all help.
I thought about the hammer idea and I think it would work well.... LOL

not that easy my ins will not cover it.... I am trying to fix some damage my daughter did to the door which is not covered either. I don't want my rates to go up.
I will take it all apart if I have to it just seems like there has to be an easier way
