Default Lowering the car, is this safe?

ok guys screw performance.

iam dropping the stang with dropzone springs. I don't really have enough money for struts and shocks right now. but I did research and Tokico struts and shocks would work with dropzone springs (atleast dropzone is in the compatibility list with Tokico)

well anyways. the drop will be about.. 1.5-1.7 iam guessing. sense i don't have a V8 it won't do the full 2 inch drop.

i have also taken the consideration of maybe getting Jamex struts and shocks from ebay, for like 50bux+ shipping.

Jamex designs springs, struts and shocks for lowering the mustang 2.5 inches.

well anyways... my REAL question is will it be safe to just put the dropzones on my car with out anything breaking? like struts or shocks busting on me, to cause me wreck or something.

the reason i don't have enough money for the struts and shocks is because i spent all my money on rear GT bumper. Flowmasters 40 series 2 chamber on H pipe, Bomz CAI, and Mach 1 chin spoiler, and... Black bullet wheels 18x9 in the front and 18x10 deep dishes in the back. So iam not planning on trying to spend anymore money then what i should. I know the ride quality will be crap, but i just wanna make sure that nothing breaks while iam riding it with just the springs and stock struts and shocks.

AND ABOUT ALIGNMENT! i don't know whats up with the people ont he forums here. i read a few threads saying they needed camber kit and so forth to get the car allignment. Iam over at 3.8mustang forums. and alot of people there have lowered there stangs 1.5-1.7 with no camber kit needed for alignment. Althought they couldn't tell me how long they drove with stock struts and shocks, because most of them gotten Tokico's shortly after the car was lowered. I hope you guys can help me out.

well I dropped my car 1.5" and didn't "need" CC plates... but that doesnt mean I should do it... I shoulda, if you drop your car anything over an inch or so then theirs no way to get the right camber with the little bit of adjustment you can get at the strut towers. I actually didn't get CC plates, I had a local alignment shop use smaller bolts in the lower strut mounts - he did the adjustment there [sm=alcoholic.gif] ... those were my $.75 camber plates

rofl... btw - like the purple horney spankin avatar

and ummm, yea its safe to keep the stock shocks and struts but they'll ride like dookie and won't last long because they won't be in their designed compression range, may even bottom out on a bad bump and bust if your getting like 2" dropped

If your on a budget then just get shocks / struts at an auto parts store for a fox mustang. Just walk in and tell them you want shocks / struts for a 90 GT... their the same as your just about 1.5" shorter, perfect for a dropped newer body stang

wow will that really work? iam at college right now so i can't really go around and check.

how much will it cost to get it from a foxbody/90GT mustang? thats great. iam just afraid my drop would be lower. like 2 inches.

because dropzones specify it will drop v6 to 1.5-1.7 and then V8's 1.8 to 2.0. iam alittle it nerves it will drop even lower as well. will it still work even with a lower drop? like a 1.8 or a 2.0 perhaps?

also, it can be any 5.0 foxbody right? doesn't matter if its GT or LX? I love this place, over at 3.8mustang forms they was acting like "TOKICOs, OR DON'T LOWER AT ALL!"
