hi everyone im new here a mustang lover i just bought a 5.0 motor for my 89lx compression is(180,175,175,180(right side)180,175,170,190 are these good readings?? i appreciate the help

 

ya those numbers are good. as long as they are within 10% of each other. the average is 180...10% of that is 18 your lowest is 175. add 18 to that and you have 193. sense your highest is 190...your fine.


EDIT: oops, missed that 170 you have in there. the 170-190 is just slightly over 10%. your so close. try retesting and see what you get.

I have seen 5.0 pull those number with 200k..your in good shape

 

i know im alittle off 10% on that right side but would that make my car rough even tho its off alittle? i was told i may need new 02 sensors could that be it also?

 

it's possible that with some blow by the sensor has become damage...

 

that good what you got 10.5 to 1 compression at the least i would say...with too small of a cam...? my 408 got 195 psi 12.5 to 1 cam is 264/274 @.050

 

hmmmm maybe the sensor but none of my dash lights go on[:@]hehe
