Default PI Heads Or Not?

brothers i face a dilemna. i've quit teaching to get another job and am finally making some more money. i've saved enough to do a few mod's to the slow azz 96 gt slushomatic. i was thinking of getting some pi heads and intake but someone told me porting the stock ones would net the same results. then i started to think if i should just sell the car and pay the difference for a 99-04 gt. then my dad told me i could take over the payments on the 03 cobra which are 515 a month. the only reason i wouldn't want to do this is because i've been through a lot 'sobs' with the car. plus i know a 96-98 gt would be one hell of a sleeper considering how f'ing slow they are stock. Please help me!!!

true, non-pi heads that have been ported will flow as well as ported PI heads, but you won't get the compression bump and you still need a PI intake and a good cam reguardless.

personally if it were me I'd get the Cobra or spend some serious money and build and supercharge the 96

i am seriously thinking about the cobra since i've made the last 2 payments and the old man doesn't drive it much. i know i can afford it but i am still not sure if i want to be committed to the payment. i'd spend about 600 more a month to get the cobra. if i keep the 96 gt i know a serious build is on the way.
i can get the pi heads, and intake for 999.99 how much do u think installation will be? i can do it myself but dont have the tools.

Let see 600 more a month thats 7200 a year, take that money and make that sleeper, buy a stroked short block, put some p&p heads with a mild cam, supercharge, and while what a sleeper. Plus i know everyone loves the 04 cobra's, and don't get me wrong i like, and they are awesome cars, but i really like the looks of the 94-98 mustangs better than the 99-04s. Better yet save that money and get you an 07cobra. The best looking mustangs yet, and most definetly the most powerful.

Sorry thought you were talking to me, but hey the install really isn't that hard, just look at it as changing head gaskets.

I had my heads ported and added larger valves and a cam. Way cheaper than new heads.

For you situation, I recommend you keep the Cobra... strong block and 4v heads.
