429/460 build help, please?
I've tried searching 460Ford.com for the answer to this, and tried registering there, but seem to be unable to do so....so, I'll ask here, and maybe get some help.
Right now, I've got three engines in my garage. A fully built C8VE 429, and two 460s, both D1VE blocks.
The situation is, currently, that the 429 is a little too high compression for me to be able to run it efficiently as a daily driver.
One thought, I've had, is to switch the 460 crank and piston into the 429, which will increase cubic inches, but lower the compression. Then sell the extra 460s/parts.
The second thought, is to take the C8VE heads from the 429 and swap them onto a 460, since they've already had all the work done to them that they would need (the heads, that is). Then sell the left over parts from the 429.'
Thought number three, is to leave the 460s alone, and do a stroker kit on the built 429 block. Maybe use some dished pistons to keep the compression reasonable.
Thought 4, likewise, is to leave the 429 alone, and sell it to someone who wants a built semi-race engine, and turn one of the 460s into a stroker.
Thought 5......some other combination I haven't come up with yet?
The bottom line, is that I don't want to have to use more than 89 octane or so, but don't want to kill my performance complete either. Trying to stay around 500hp. And naturally, I don't want to go out of my way and spend more than I need to.
I know, somewhere admist all the parts I have, there should be an ideal combination. I just don't have enough information yet, to know what that would be. I'm not new to engines, just new to the 429/460, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time!

1st, 429 and 460 blocks are the same unless you have a CJ block. So it doesnt matter which block you use to build a stroker. More cubes are always a good thing so I'd say 460. If you go stroker then it doesn't matter which block you use. Try 460ford again or e-mail chilly.
Gary; While stock blocks are the same; the 429 that I have, has already had extensive machine work done to it. It's been vatted, bored out 30 over, ported, polished, etc. So, my question revolved more around whether I should use a stock block, or one that has already been worked on. If I use a stock block, I could sell the built one possibly; but the built one will offer better starting performance.
I've also tried emailing Chilly, and my emails just get delivery status failure. I've also tried registering again. No success.
Jasperstang308; the compression ratio, I believe, is around 11:1.

the c8ve heads are good torque heads u will need to hog out the exhaust port on those though, if not done already, cause all stock ford exhaust ports suck. the c8ve heads on the 460 will be a good way to go, with a good hydraulic flat tappet cam and a 10.1 cr which is still very streetable and a 850 carb, 500 fly is no problem. 89 octane will be tough to run that on b/c naturally ur gonna want some cr, 89 will require something below 9 to 1 which is part of the reason the 72+ 460/429's were dogs, factory cr was at the highest 8.7or 8 to 1.
A thicker head gasket on the 429 would drop the CR a little. You can then drop the timing a little on the 429 for use with lower octane fuel. I'm running a couple engines over 11:1 (12 to 13) and don't have a problem with the retarded timing and pump fuel. Of course, there's more power available with the right gas...and a quick turn of a **** turns up the timing.
