ticket question
i got a ticket last night 96 in a 65...it was in jersey and i live in ny so is it true u dont get points if its in a diff state? and does anyone know roughly how much its gunna cost or does it vary according to court.
ive gotten 2x bad speeding tickets both were 255$ for going 25+ on the speed limit. that will depend on special circumstances though (workers present, school zone, anything that would increase it). yeah im pretty sure ull get points taken away, that would make no sense if you didnt...cause i could get speeding tickets all day long here since i got a TX drivers license but im stationed in fl.
now if you can take defensive driving in some states (texas i know) its like 20$ on the ticket nomatter how much it costs and then you have to pay for whatever the class costs (ive paid between 16 and 20 something)

Points do go between NJ and NY.
Here is what you ave to do:
You have to send the ticket in and plead not guilty.
They will assign you a judge and a court date.
Do you know a friendly cop in your family or
friends?
Have the cop contact the officer writing the ticket.
Have him tell the officer he knows you and vouch
for your normally good driving. (trhey know
what to say).
You have to appear early for the court date
(an hour or more).
Before court talk to the officer and prosicuter.
They really don't want to screw you with the
points. They usually just want the money.
If they like you they will make you a deal
to plead guilty on a lesser offence (no points).
You better be acting appologetic not a smart
***.
If your friendly cop has made contact with the
officer they will most likely call you over. If not
go over to them where they are making other
pleas.
The judge will call you case and you plead guilty to
the new charge, pay your fine and be gratefull.
Thank the officer on the way out.
If they do not make a deal. When your case is
called plead not guilty. You were not going
that speed and the radar was wrong.
When was it calibrated.
Look at officers accredadation to use radar.
Your speedometer was off, (changed tires).
Say your sorry but you wern't doing 95.
They may schedule anoter hearing to get
calibration papers.
Sometimes officer doesn't show and case is closed.
GOOD LUCK
