what is a torque/stall converter?
the coverter will slip a little as you give it gas. at a set rpm range the converter will lock and stop slipping. the higher the stall speed the faster you can get the rpms up where the power is being made. this happenes because when your below the stall speed the engine is reving up but not turning the trans much so the engine is able to rev with almost no drag from the weight of the car. the sooner you hit the high rmps the sooner the power kicks in and the better launch you get. i run a 2200-2400 rpm in my mustang (DD) and i love it. not too much but definitly noticable. my trans shifts instantly and hits each gear hard. ive never met anyone who can shift a manual as fast as my auto shifts. i also have a b&m cooler on there too to keep it cool and consistant
There is a hell of a difference, it revs and accelerates much quicker and with the shift kit you can down shift to any gear at any speed. It will shift normally in the D position and it chirps second every time sometimes not even at wot. At take off, hold on you can do a burn out without touching the brake.
