This may seem sacreligious to many. But it needed done. I mounted a class one trailer hitch on our '07 Mustang today! It's made by Hidden Hitch. Just $105 plus installation. Very neat and unobtrusive installation. IME, they make a good product.


Jumping back, ducking for cover and flame suit on.

We have a little 400# pop up camper that I am building for our frequent trips. It will also occasionally pull a bike on a trailer. All within the 1000# it's rated for. Even a "fun" car has to earn it's keep once in a while!

Anyone else pull a trailer with their 'Stang? How'd it work out for you?

 

I stuck a "Hidden hitch" brand hitch on the back of my '02 vert as well. The thing is totally hidden by the rear bumper plastic except for the receiver tube, which is covered by a black rubber plug. very neat install

Now I can attach a bicycle rack or tow a small trailer if I have to, Nuthin wrong with that [8D]

 

That's cool! I didn't think about a bike or a cargo rack. Those could be handy too.

I just keep thinking about the look on the car salesman's face when I asked him "How big a trailer will it pull?"

Took my wife on a scenic sunset drive 40 miles for a great Italian Dinner this evening. I love this car! Great excuse to go places!

 

You guys are killing me... The Mustang is not made to tow and can I say it should not tow anything. Thats just wrong in so many ways. I see Stang's out there with a hitch on them and it makes me ill each time.

PLEASE ask yourself if you could face Carrol Shelby with that hitch on the car let alone it towing anything.

Buy a cheap truck and stick a tow hitch on that.

 

There's a guy here with a Corvette Z06 with a trailer hitch, he tows all kinda **** and even drives it in the winter.

And what does facing Shelby have to do with towing stuff with a Mustang?

 

I think it is pretty cool. Personally I wouldn't do it, but I have a truck. I think it would get a few laughs from people when you are pulling a camper though.

 

Well that all good and fine if you can justify buying a truck to pull a trailer 2 or 3 times a year, and you've got a place to keep it, and the money etc...etc....

Take a reality pill or donate some of your wealth and land to those of us who can't justify it or afford it

 

Trucks aren't that expensive if you look right. Mine is an old beater anyways. I am by no means wealthy. Chill.

yea pics would be cool. I take frquent trips and one of those rear flat cargo racks would be sweet so I could cruise with the top down.
