Default EGR Valve Replacement

My service engine light is on.

The guys at my local Autozone said it was my EGR Valve that needed either cleaning or replacing.

Could anyone either tell me how to do it step by step or link me to some instructions? Thanks, it would be a big help.

Default RE: EGR Valve Replacement

Use a open ended wrench or cresent wrech to lossed the nut that holds the pipe to the EGR. Disconnect any vacuum or electrical hook-ups. Use a socket (10mm?) to lossen the bolts that hold it down. Remove the EGR, careful claen out any carbon. Clean out the port on the intake manifold, as well as the pipe running back to exahsut manifold. Post this question in teh 6cyl. section. They might expalin better, I am not familiar with '02.
