if you have a set of keys that would be a pair since we only have 1 key for doors, trunk and the ignition
try ebay for a blank thenhave it cut by a locksmith program per owners manual

Fleebay has both fobs and blank keys. Get the RIGHT ONES. Try locksmithsource as a starter.
Then have em cut locally by a LOCKSMITH. If he wrecks it he will REPLACE it. Not true of Home Depot or k-Mart. For the fob make sure you get one with the right FCCID. Got several for a few bucks for my son's 05.BIGHANK

FCC ID => Federal Communications Commission Identification

Should be on the back or inside cover of your current FOB

Is it true that I will need two keys to get extra keys made? I have read that you cannot just have a single key and get new keys cut and programmed.

NOPE
I got an additional key CUT using one of the originals. I don't remember but YOU MAY NEED 2 KEYS to program the new key to the car.[8D]BIGHANK

At the Ford dealership I worked at they could program a key as long as they had one key that worked. Your best bet would be to find one cheap online, maybe eBay and then get it cut/programed at the dealership. You can check the dealership prices for the key also but it's probably going to be expensive.

I locked my keys in the trunk at the airport and if my roomate hadnt brought my spare set out to me when I got back it was going to cost me 250 bucks to have a locksmith fabricate one from scratch on site so expensive

As long as you have one original, they can cut you a new key. I did this with my 2006 Focus. I purchased an extra key and a FOB from Ford. I'm getting a locksmith to program the FOB for about $20.00, which is better than Ford wanting $80.00.
