1994 5.0 Mustang Purchase? (Need Insight)
Hi,
I'm 18 and I've always liked Mustangs. My first car was a 1996 v6. I now have the oppurtunity to own a 5.0. I was curious to know how reliable these engines are. The car i'm looking at has 91,000 miles on it. And several bolton performance upgrades. Shorty headers, h pipe, high flow cats, x pipe, 40 series flowmaster. On the induction end i think the only upgrade is cold air intake. It has full MSD and i believe a higher performance cam was also installed. I haven't found out the exact specifics yet, I know I'm leaving out some addons. Is there anything I should be aware of about this year or is there anything additional I should be inspecting other than the baics. Anything would be helpful.

I think it's personal preference. I like the 94-98 models, and I like the 5.0, so I got lucky and found a 95 GT. If you don't mind everybody Citicizing you with the whole "94-95's are heavy and slow" I think it's a great choice. Don't be fooled by this comment though, because they are not slow. I'm very happy with mine, and true, it may be heavier than then pre 94's, but in my opinion it looks better. So again, it's personal preference. As far as durability goes, mine has 156K on it, and I still give most vehicles around here a pretty good run. You also have to consider how much you are paying for it. Good luck!

yeah i would not worry too much about the miles on it, the 302 motors are strong and run for a long time as long as the typ. matin. is done. If you like the car and can afford it go for it and enjoy. BTW I had a 89' LX 5.0 purchesed it with 60k on it and drove it till i sold it 4 years later with 175k on it and it was still running strong! (I did a lot of highway driveing at 100+ for long distances, Drove from NY to Cali. 6 times )

wow an x pipe AND an h pipe, that must be interesting.
94-95 5.0s are slow and heavy, get a pre 93.
