Default GT or Cobra?

I'm fairly ignorant of cars, but am considering buying a new GT or Cobra, as a convertible. I would like an unbiased opinion if the Cobra's extra horsepower is worth the additional money as compared to the GT. How large is the difference in acceleration between the GT and Cobra? I know thatsuperchargers only give power at high engine rpm, andthe Cobra's specs don't indicate that the supercharger gives much of a difference over the GT's engine (only half a second on the 0-60 mph test). The Cobra's supercharger gives a lot more horsepower, but it doesn't seem to translate into much of a difference between that and the GT. Any knowledgeable advice or experience with both cars would be appreciated.

A half second 0-60 is alot when they get below 6 seconds, not to mention those are done on street tires which limit traction. As far as when you get the power, that depends on the supercharger. The supercharger on the Cobra give power EVERYWHERE. If you have the money and are old enough to get affordable insurance then get the Cobra. Better yet go drive one (If they let ya hehe).

GT Convertibles weigh more, and probably won't break high 14's in the quarter mile..

Cobra Convertibles weigh more than coupes, but they will still be around high 12's.

I think I would give my left n*t for an '03 Cobra, I love the sound of superchargers. I used to have an '89 Cougar XR7 with a PnPed Eaton SC, with CAI and ceramic headers. It blew the doors off my 95GT that I have now. It came stock with 315lb/ft and was pushing about 350 after the mods I have. Man I miss that car, it was a real sleeper. I blew a ring on it, parted it out, got $3000 for it and paid the down payment on my Mustang, and got new rims. Go S/C if you can, then get an OD pulley for it.
