is it worth it?

is it worth it?
I have 96 3.8L V6 and I want to upgrade to a GT, the guy I bought it from says the car is set for the 4.6 but im not sure about the electrical system or the suspension. Is it worth building a new motor and converting to a GT? If not under what circumstances would it be worth it?

RE: is it worth it?
It would be worth it only if you were able to do all the mechanical work yourself. If you need to hire a garage to do the swap, forget it. It'd be much cheaper to sell your car & buy a GT

definitely not worth the hassle...
unless... you love working on cars, can do everything yourself (some things will require an additional set of hands), and you have lots of money to spend on it.
i had a 95 3.8L 2 years ago. (best motor every built BTW) ...blew it up and put in a carbed 5.0 from an older mustang. it was fun and exciting to do it myself but after everything was said and done I had prolly put over $2500 into the swap. I did go a little crazy with the March Performance Pulleys and all the chrome but still. If you've got the time, patience, and money... go for it. Otherwise, sell it and buy a GT.
here's a little encouragement...
my final product...
and a little help...

RE: is it worth it?
i seriously doubt it was "set up" for a 4.6 alot of people sell bull**** along with their car.
set up for a 4.6 means he putthe following:a new bellhousing (which i donno if it will even bolt to the 3.8 in the first place), 8.8 or beefed the rear end, stronger suspension up front, bigger radiator, etc... you would still need to do something with the ecu and you need a 4.6 wiring harness which wont be done with a 3.8 still in the car.

I am not sure about the bell housing but the transmission is not the original T-45, the rear end is the 8.8 and the suspension stiff as all hell, however I am not sure about the raidiator either. I didnt know about the ecu and wiring harness though, Thanks!
