Default car suddenly wont start... please help.

Hey there. I have a '67 mustang, and she always has run a little iffy. i'm saving up enough money to drop a v8 in, but in the mean time i have to deal with what i have. She's been working really nice lately, until today. Last night I drove her home from work with no problems, and then this morning i can't even start the car. I got the car started 3 times, and it died 3 times in row, and now the car wont even attempt to start when i turn the ignition. I've checked gas, and the battery. Both are fine, and I'm not sure what else it could be, any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds electrical to me. If it is turning over you still need fire to the plugs. If the ignition is still factory it has points which can burn and cause it not to fire. There should be battery power to one side of the coil with the key switch in the "run" position. These are a few things to check. Let us know what you find and give us a little more info if possible.

are you getting gas to the carb?? could be a bad fuel pump. also check for moisture under the distributor cap that could be killing the spark.

first see if you are getting fire, stick a test light into a spark plug wire hole and see if it lights up. if you are getting fire id pour some gas in the card and try it again, if it fires up you know that u r not getting fuel, give us an update hope she works for ya

I would bet it's fuel realated. I'd go over the entire system especially the filter.

Well guys, after alot of running back and forth to the auto parts star, i finally figured out the problem, and then fixed it!

It turns out it was my fuel pump that was bad. I suspected that, so i took off the fuel hose and sure enough when i started it up, no fuel ran out of the hose. Someone also said to me, "are you sure there is gas in it?" .....yes, i was. =) So i bought a new fuel pump, put it on and now she runs like a beaut. thanks for all your help guys
