Why would a drag strip require
My friend with a 78 Camaro has a 200 wet shot of nitrous, he went along with me to the track & they wouldn't let him spray because he didn't have a purge valve..why?

If you've gotta shut down there's no way to purge the line? I dunno. Sounds funny to me. The guys at the shop that built my motor quit running purge valves because it wasted too much $$.

It's to keep parts and oil off the track. The purge valve purges air (and residual nitrous) out of the system up to the nozzles. It maintains a full charge of nitrous in the lines at launch. If air is going in when you shoot, and nitrous comes on suddenly at an rpm not set for it, and maybe hits a few cylinders at a time....well, not pretty.

why would anybody with half a clue not run a purge????????????

if your going to actualy run juice the two best things you could have for it are a purge and a bottle warmer.

It dumps nitrous outside of the line. You can run an awsome run without it, but it'd take a mili-second or so for the lines to fill up with pure juice.

Waste of money, both parts and nitrous.
