Default Electrical or Actuator Problem?

I've been driving around for a couple months with a dying alternator which i just replaced. During that time my passenger side door lock stopped unlocking/locking; it still tries if i push the button but never makes it. My trunk will not unlock with the remote until like the 10th time i push the button. The driver side door unlocks immediately everytime with the remote so i dont think its the remote battery, nor the car battery. My question is could my alternator problem have screwed up my electrical or do i simply need a new actuator for the door (and i dunno one for the trunk too i guess)? Just want to check before i go spending 100 bucks at the dealership.

Car is 01 GT vert, 120,000 miles

Thanks

Default RE: Electrical or Actuator Problem?

Oh that's some high mileage right there. My 01 is only 25,000..

Trunk or doors, it's a solinoid.. You might be able to fix it.. Any solinoid would have a moving metal part inside, lub it so it moves freely. It might also stick, you can put a piece of tape on the end that sticks that way it will work.. I can't picture coils going on you. If it's not coils then you can take it apart and probably fix it. Start with trunk, it's easiest. Make sure actuator gets power when you click remote or glove box button, than take it from there.

If it gets power it's actuator problem, if not, fuse or something.
