Default Fuel filter ?'s

I owed a co-worker a favor so I did a tune-up on her 02 mustang gt for her. Just the basics, fluids and filters, plugs, coolant flush, pcv, and so on. All went well until I got to the fuel filter. The thing will just not come off! It's your basic plug-in type with the clip-locks on either side that clamp over the filter and fuel line merge. I pulled with almost everything in me, tried twisting as i pulled, but it would not budge. I called the parts store to see if there is some type of tool I need, they said "no". The line was not under pressure since the fuel rails and injectors were disconnected. I've just never seen one on this tight, am I missing something?

Default RE: Fuel filter ?'s

To replace the fuel filter on my girlies '98 stang I had to pick up a set of C shaped fuel line fitting removal tools from my local auto parts store for something like 6 bucks. Little plastic C-ring things that slide over the fitting. Push them in till you feel a pop, and the connector comes apart. Even though there is no pressure in the lines, there still will be fuel in it. So be careful not to have your head under the fitting when it comes loose, and have a small container handy to angle the fuel line into to catch the excess fuel.
