need help bad!
i just got a 2002 mustang v6 auto yesterday
it started fine when i got it. i drove it 2 times.
now when i get in all the gauges light up and everything is cool
when i try to start it the starter solinoid clicks one time and the whole car
acts like it is dead! i disconnect the batt and re-connect it and it does the same thing!
does anyone know what this could be?
its raining and cold is that a problem?

If you got it from a dealer, call them and make them give you a new battery because the one in the car they sold youis dead.
If you got the car from an individual you can present your case but I'll bet you end up buying a new battery yourself.
The alternator could be the problem and the seller made sure the battery was charged enough to get the car far far away before it died.
A single click from the starter can also be the starter solenoid has given up it's ghost and isn't allowing the solenoid contacts to energize the starter. It can also be the starter is finished and needs replaced.
These things were listed in the order of probability and expense.Hopefully you'll fix the problem before you get too far.

I would make sure that yourtrans selector is fully in park if an auto. I've seen where all you have to do is move it around and then it will start. Also check your battery voltage, it may be weak.
I had a similar problem in my ranger a few weeks back. All the lights on the dash lit up and the think just died, turns out it was the alternator. i should have known cus the damn volt gauge was near zero. Im gona make a point of putting volt gauges in all my cars so that will never happen again.

Also be sure to checy your battery connections at both ends. Typically a crusty battery terminal is what causes your dilemma, not that the other posts are wrong. All of these things are possible suspects. Even the starter itself.
