Default cracking through the carb

heres what i have. 93 coupe was 4 cyl. i converted to v8, i has a 79 302 freshly built, to stock, it has a holley contender intake with a holley street avenger 600cfm carb, 3" long tube headers, and full 3" exhaust, a knock off billit distributor, electric fan, a cam that specs are dur. 218/228 lift .471/.471,5 speed trans out of an 84 turbo car, [i now the trans has nothing to do with my question]. now heres the problem i have drove the car 5 times the first three times everything was good man it runs stronger than i was expecting but the 4th time it started making a cracking noise through the carb i have triple check timing its good i have changed the carb to a brand new edelbrock that didnt fix it so i took it back, i have put a inline fuel pressure gauge on so i can see were im at [5 1/2 psi.] i have tried from 4 to 6 psi it doesnt change anything. it starts this cracking at about 20 mph and up, or if you stand on it. i have no idea what to do any suggestions? so it so long wanted to try and cover all bases.

What do you mean it's cracking? Like popping through the intake? And is it all the time, or only when you initially open the throttle? What's your cam timing and ignition timing at?
