Default Adjusting Engine Position

How can I adjust my engine so that it is lifted off of the K-Member of my '89 2.3 Liter? I have gotten new solid engine mounts but I can't get the bolts off to save my life. Any tips?

Would putting a few layers of carpet between the oil pan and the cross memeber work? The oil pan looks like it is bending pretty bad on the passenger side.

Default RE: Adjusting Engine Position

Are you trying to install new mounts, or did you have these mounts on already? The best way to get the motor up is to slide a floor jack under there with some wood on it, support the oil pan, remove the big nut on each side mount...then jack the motor up a tad, slide the mounts out...etc... Could you be more specific as to whats goin on?
