Default gear install

Im going to rebuild my 8.8 trac lok in addition to putting in 3.90 gears. What components do i need to rebuild the rear end and put in my gears? I already have the trac lok rebuild kit, pinion seal and inner bearing. What else do I need to buy.

Default RE: gear install

I would get the differential bearings along with a shim kit and the other pinion bearing too. no sense installing new gears using old bearings. you also need the small bottle of friction modifier for the traction lok in addition to a couple of quarts of rear end lube oil.
if you've never done rear gears before, you might want to get an experienced friend to assist as this job is not that easy for a novice to complete and get it right the first time out.
