hey

ihave had this 1967 mustang for about 4 years. been drving it for 2 year. and i need toknow what the REDLINE would be? it is a 289 block with 302 heads on it. i am kinda guessing it is 5500 RMPs. i have never had it that high, becouse i dont no.

I don't know off hand but you're probably about right at 5500 rpm.The actual destruction rpm could be anything, depending on the internals and the condition thereof.

To accurately find out where the HP numbers start to fall off you could take the car to a dyno operator and give thedrums a couple of turns.You could even tweak the timing and fuel mix a little while you're there.

yes you are very close at 5500. my buddy had the same setup and he was redlining at 5600. but as chopper stated it depends on internals and the condition
