Default timing chain?

I just got my first mustang a 1999 4.6L gt And was wondering if it had a timing chain or belt?

the crankshaft drives two timing chains one for each overhead cam. seeing that your car is a 99 i doubt that it has enough miles on it for it to need a new timimg chain. they last many miles before they begin to loosen up.

Are you asking because you have a problem that you think is related to the timing chains or cam? If so, it'll probably help more if you give the symptoms.
