Default Superchargers

Ive got my eye on an ATI Procharger (the P-1SC to be specific). According to them, a 4.6 with headers and 3.73 gears will run an 11.97 with the 8 PSI. Thats cool and all but I think i want the variable pulleys (still P-1SC but with 8, 10, and 12 changeable pulleys). Anyway, my question is, what would i have to do to ensure a good, healthy, long life for my motor with that kind of boost. Second question: is it a bad idea to take long trips with a supercharged motor (i.e. iowa to middle tennessee, about 650 miles). I could switch back to the 8 psi for the trips, but i dont know if even that is safe. any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Just make sure it is tuned right. That's all it takes.

No. It's not bad at all. Generally with freeway driving you will be using no boost.
