painting brake calipers

RE: painting brake calipers
They have paint on the market for that application, however, I am not sure hhow well it performs especially under heat or cold & salt conditions, either of which you may have. In any event, I would opt for powder coating them. THat stuff is TOUGH! It would mean taking your calipers apart & having your car down during the disassembly, painting & assembly process.

There should only be 2 bolts that hold on your caliper. take the caliper off and clean the hell out of it. Apply the paint (they make special brake caliper paint). Let it dry. Use a C clamp and a brake pad to compress the pistons back in so it will fit over your rotor.

I suggest the new brush on style because it is a lot thicker and should hold up alot better. It smooths itself out before drying. I think it also comes with a spray can of cleaner for prepping too.
