Default New Headers!!!!

Hey all the new BBK Equal Length Shorties just came in.. I am going to put them in tonight after work... So is there anthing i have to do special for the equal lengths??? I have heard that they are much more difficult to install compared to the unequals.. What should i watch out for and/or do special??? Are there any special tricks anyone has for a fast and easy install??? I have installed headers numerous times but never equal lengths... Any advice you guys could give would be greatly appriciated.. Thanks in advance...

Can't wait to get them in!!!

if i remember right you have to jack the passenger side up a little to make it easy to put that side it. just make sure you get all the old gasket off and get new gaskets too.

Default RE: New Headers!!!!

on the passenger side header, the problem bolt is on the front side of the #3 cylinder due to the sharp bend in the header that comes right over the bolt hole. if you install this bolt through the flange first and then put the flange in place on the head, you can get it on without having to cut the bolt shorter. another trick is to use some light weight sewing thread or dental floss to tie the gaskets onto the flanges so you don't have to fight trying to hold the gasket and get a bolt started. once you get a couple of bolts started, then cut and remove the threads. also don't tighten any bolts until you get all of them started into the holes in the heads as you may need to jiggle the flange to get some of the holes lined up just right in order to get the bolts started.
