Default New combo coming soon

I am picking up some new GT40P heads Friday, these will go with my 94 Cobra intake, BBK unequal ceramic coated shorty headers, high flow midpipe, MAC flowpaths, K&N airfilter with silencer removed and ASP aluminum underdrive pullies. I will retain the stock cam at this time, do you think this combo will make decent power?

Thanks ...Mike

You will definitely feel an improvement in power. I am not sure how big of an improvement since you aren't getting a cam. Any reason why you aren't getting a cam? Also why did you go with shorty's? Emissions?

I am going to hold off on the cam until I change out the short block in a couple of years and the engine is out of the car. On the headers I went with shorties for ground clearance issues because the roads where I live are marginal at best. I've read that even with the stock camit should pick up some decent power.

Definitely pick up some power, but if you had a cam you would see some huge gains. Not a bad idea about the block though. Most people don't think that far in advance. lol You could still get a mild cam for a decent price and see some nice gains with it. That is one nice things about 5.0's, nice gains for a cheap price.

I understand about the roads. Where I live I scrape on the road about half the time and I am only lowered about an inch and still have the stock exhaust. I love the sound ofthe exhaustscraping along the ground.[:@]

Thanks, I really appreciate your input. It is my understanding that if I put a cam in a dyno tune and custom chip will be required. Thoughts?

I haven't really said anything to help you out at all. lol

Yes, When you put the cam in you will need a customdyno tune. I would advise getting a handheld tuner, preferably one that a local tuner uses. This will enable your tuner to use your 'tuner' to write the custom tune for your car. Sorry if that got confusing. lol

You are going to need a tune with your new parts anyway. You will be able to drive the car once you get all of the parts put on but it will not be good for the engine. When you do major work to the engine you always need to get a tune done to it so that you are not running too lean or rich etc. etc.

lol
Did you understand what I meant with my last post? You can put the parts on, drive the car, but you definitely need a tune. Without a tune and that many modifications it would only be a matter of time before somethingbad happened.

Everything but the heads is on the car as of now and it runs strong with no driveabilty issues whatsoever, the heads will be going on next week.I understand that to get the max benefit from my mods a tune would be a good idea.
