Default Whats next??

Okay well, I want to apologize beforehand if this is in the wrong section (I was confused whether to ask in th 5.0 section or the general discussion..) Well I'm beginning my first performance engine build and I purchased a 302 bare block. I know I need to take it to a machine shop to have them hot tank it, and do everything else with it. But do i need to bring them in pistons to bore the block? How do I know what pistons and etc. that can work? Thanks you, hopefully you don't mind my beginner questions.

most guys go with a .030 overbore and a 4.030 in diameter piston. While your down to a bare block now would be a good time to look into a 331 or 347 stroker kit

Make sure you pick a good machine shop. Be honest and tell them what your goals are, they will tell you if your going in the right direction

Make sure they can line boar and they have good reputation, nothing is worse than building an engine and having it fail becuase of the machine shop.

I've been looking around for machine shops, the only one that I know of is NAPA has their own and thats right down the street. Anyone know any good ones around the Phoenixville/Philadelphia area? Im just confused at finding pistons and rods/etc that all work together. I'm unsure about measurements, whether the pistons should be round or flat top.
