Default Catback on a vert?

I have a GT convertible, and was thinking of using a good aftermarket exhaust system, but I'm very worried if I install something like a flowmaster catback exhaust system, my head will explode as there is NO sound deadening material above my head. I can hear everything outside with the top up or down, and while I'd like to improve my tone and performance, I also like to cruise down the beach enjoying the day. I want something that roars, but roars low, allowing me to hear music in the car or have a conversation with a passenger. Any convertible owners with the same concerns found a happy solution? Ay suggestions? Thanks!

i'd say SLP power-flo or magnaflows since you don't want anything super loud.

I have the flowmaster american thunders...
the only time they bother me is when I'm crusing at 2000 rpms and they drone. This is only a problem if I go like, 68 to 71 in 5th gear on the highway...so I go a bit faster. Hopefully the drone will go with headers and mid pipes....however the regular noise of the flows is a beautiful thing, top up or down, trust me.

I have a vert with the stingers, and am satisfied with the lack of drone and noise. That being said, I have a tendency to not think stuff is that loud anyways, so I can't give you a great answer regarding the stingers. I say go with the magnaflows.

Yea either the magnaflows or the flowmasters. I like the sound of the magnaflows though.

I have the Magnapacks on mine. They are loud, but not too bad. I can still hear the radio and carry on a conversation without any troubles. The only time it gets bad is under load in the 1600-2200 rpm range. Cruising at those RPM is pretty quiet.

Ive got a 2000 vert with bbk headers, x-pipe, and flowmaster Force II's. The force II's are nice cuz without much acceleration they dont make much noise at all. It does drone on the interstate like yinyang said, but turn up the radio some and its all gone. Never gets so loud u cant talk to someone in the car.
