what are upgrades i can do to my 97 gt...i already have "the beast" exhuast kit from pypes and 3.73 gears...i just ordered a professional products 75mm throttle body and intake plenum....what othe upgrades can i do...

First thing you should ALWAYS do on any 96-98 GT is switch intake manifolds. The stock manifold is where most power is lost in that vehicle. Switch to a PI intake and you'll be good.

Longtube headers would be a great idea too.

yea i had a buddy tell me somthing bout that...those are the intakes that come on the 99-04's right

The 99-04 had the PI intake and heads. PI=Performance Improved. These are what allowed the 99-04's to have 40 more hp than you. Also if you do the PI head swap then you will have a bit more power than the stock 99-04's because it bumps up your CR when you do the swap. I think it bumps it up to 10.4:1, not completely sure though.

i've heard that you can put the pi intake on my heads...they won't line up exactly but they will still flow better then the intake thats on there now...is this true?

You have to be careful what year GT you get them off of. Ford switched it up a little and used a different block. I am not sure what years are different from yours, I don't own a GT, but I am sure that someone else will be in here to help you out.

Did you post in the 4.6L section? Most of the guys in that section are extremely helpful and will be able to help you out with your questions much more than me.

yea i was just lookin on ebay and i saw a complete swap kit for $1500 included heads intake and all gaskets and everything else you need to do the swap...how much do you think these will help out?

The difference in the heads is ford put the 302 truck heads to get more ponies out of your stang.
