No Cats = Horrid Mileage
I had a full tank (at the full line, but not maxed out) last night, and after no more thnan 20 miles of driving, i am now down to 3/4 tank of gas...
has anyone heard of such absolutely horrid gas mileage after getting a new mid pipe and catback?
i cant afford to drive if its gonna be this bad,, plus my 4.10s next weekend, i litreally wont be able to afford it at all..
the ford dealer****' around here said that it was just from lack of back pressure and nothign could be done to prevent the loss..... i thought there was post about this a couple days ago, but i couldnt find it, so i thougt i would askk, im scared.....[]
any thing helpful would be GREATLY appreciated

RE: No Cats = Horrid Mileage
its definately not the whole foot always on the floor thing... i dont know
i'll start recording stuff in a bit when i go driving around and see what happens.. its always possible that EVERY time i looked at the gauge it was on some sort of hill and seemed fuller, then when i got home and parked on a slope, it leveled out and seemed low...haha, try to make sense out of that......[&:]

I don't have any experience with the newer 4.6 engine, but I don't think you should be seeing any big change in gas mileage with just those changes. I know with my 5.0 the off road H-pipe and cat back system didn't seem to affect my mileage at all. Did you reset the ECU after you did the pipe job??? Try this to see is this helps any.

my car ran rich after i installed an offroad x pipe, my mileage dropped a bit, but not a horrific amount, 1-2 mpg.
i think you need to drive it a bit more just to see where you are really at.

what is Good gas mileage with minor bolt ons?
I've got nothing more than a timing adjuster (steeda) and 4.10s in my 2001, i can't seem to get better than about 17~18mpg of mixed highway and about town driving.... i am going to mess with my timing adjuster to see if i can get a bit better... what do you guys get?
