What RPM do you shift at?
Under normal driving conditions, for instance going to work or school, what rpm do you typically shift at? I personally shift at 1800-2200 to conserve gas and run my car easy.
yea i agree i had to pick 4000 tho...i am a gas miser, but when i get in ym stang is wide open all the time so ppl can hear my pipes, but see how slow my 5.Oh is....ahah WOT from every stop sign and stoplight...
I shift at about 2200. I also like to conserve gas! That is, unless the road ahead is open. I got pulled over tho for having too loud of an exhaust the other night. "Defective muffler". I looked at him and said this didn't make sense b/c I didn't have any!
Seriously, why is 4000rpm even on your poll?
For saving gas, 2-2500rpm. 4.6L have a little less torque so they need to be shifted higher than a 5L.
I have a 5L and 3.73 rear gears. Sometimes when trying to conserve I even take off in 2nd.
Often skip gears for upshifting.
Slip into neutral for coast down.
Especially on cold start up. It's also important to keep the revs down.
