Transmission Decision!
I recently bought a t5 for $150 and I am 99% sure that it is NOT a World Class t5, meaning it holds up to 265ft/lbs by factory specs.I say 99% sure because the tag on the tailhousing was gone when I bought it, and there was gear oil in it not ATF.Is it evenworth rebuilding a non-world class t5? I have gotten mixed reviews, some say with an upgrade they can be just as strong as a World Class, others say that the needle bearing design used in World Class is much stronger and creates less drag. I don't know which is true, but I do know that I could sell the t5, keep the FMX that is in my mustang (1969 Coupe, 351w) and put the money forward to a different area of the car (horsepower, handling, etc). What is the best way to go? Also, if anyone knows about areal NWC to WC conversion (meaning you can convert a NWC to use needle bearings like the World Class) please let me know where I can find it. I appreciate any responses, thanks.
