Mate, you're not going to get any replies that will help much because your question is simply: How do you swap an engine? It's like asking in a surgeon's forum, "so, i wanna do this kidney transplant thing...how do I do one?" You have to be more specific. There are many steps and procedures to follow when unmounting and removing an engine, and still others that are different for the mounting...Get yourself a Haynes manual or the like and read through it. What I can tell you is that you have a lot of work ahead of you. Remove all accessories, pnplug everything, remove transmission, unclamp driveshaft and torque converter, and finally motormounts. If you aren't 100% sure of what these are, then you have a couple of weeks in-depth research to do before you tackle the unmounting and remounting. Good luck! And let us know if there's something more specific we can help with.

Ok i guess what i was wanting to know then is am i going to have to change the computer are can i just load the new data and was kinda curious if the transmission in the stang now would bolt up to the new motor. I am unsure what kinda tranmission it is i just know it is a five speed and was put in most of the cars 2000 and up.

You are going to need a computer to match either the Cobra or GT. THe V6 comp will not work. Also, make sure you get a computer that is for either the GT or Cobra as they are different from eachother as well.

The V6 transmissions are also not transferable to GTs or Cobras. The gear ratio and even flywheel diameter is different. Not sure if Cobra and GT transmissions are interchangeable, though. And of course, the V6 computer will not regulate the V8 engine. When you do an engine swap, it's not just the engine you have to swap. ;-)
