using car trailer
Hey guys,I will be putting my car on my dads car trailer this weekend, and I'm wondering how many ppl have done this with a stang before. I have a '97 cobra, with eibach springs so it sits pretty low, and I don't know if I'll bottom out when trying to drive up on the trailer (its a tandem axle with the back that folds down as a ramp). The reason I don't just go out and try it is because my car is stored over 2 hours away and I wantto knowahead of time if yall think I will be okay without using portable ramps or something. thanks
In my experience it will depend on the trailer. My buddy has a nice 18' with a dove tail and long ramps. His 1993 GT, lowered, will just clear without scraping.
If your dad's trailer doesnt haveboth adovetail andlong ramps, my bet would be you will scrap the front and rear bumpers.

I would think the trailer will settle down when you drive up
the ramp allowing for lower suspension.
Make sure the ball ans chain is attached to the tow vehicle.
Make sure you center the car on the trailer and move over the
rear wheels to give at least 100# to 150# on the ball.
Criss cross your tie down straps front and rear.

When we load the 93 the rear comes very close to scraping the front is ok. The trailer does squat a fair bit with weight on it so you may be ok. But I get the feeling your Cobra is LOW.
Edit: Since your car is 2 hours away you might as well get your back up plan together and take it with you. ie ramps, extensions, planks etc.
thanks to all for the help. Iwas actually thinkingI would bottom out underneath where the x pipe and cats are, I wasn't as worried about the front or back until you guys mentioned it lol. I will have access to 2x4's or maybe 2x6's so that would definitely be a plus. thanks again
When I load up a low car I usually raise the trailer jack and it will tilt the back end of the trailer down.
Only do this on a flat surface or keep a driver in the tow vehicle with the brakes on because you will slightly unload the rear wheels on the tow vehicle.
