Default Question for horsepower

I have a 2003 mustang Gt and i need to know whats the cheapest way of making alot of horsepower. Is it putting Cams and Lifters in or what? I am not mechanically inclined so i dont know alot but i have many friends that do that stuff all the time but none of them are mustang owners. I figured i would ask you guys before i did anything. Thanks!

Head work and cams are a good way to go,for about $2500.Around 75 HP is the normal gain.Superchargers are about $3500.You can dail in boost amounts up to 100 HP(or more).Nitrous is considerably cheaper and you can pick what HP level you want to run,but you have to keep the bottle filled. The 4.6 engine will hold together with around 100 extra HP.

nitrous is going to be the cheapest way to add power to the car. For the cost of a head cam swap you could get a small shot of nitrous and gear the car. Thats the route i would go. But that is what i think everyone here is suggesting.

ask yourself do you want to make more horsepower or feel like you have alot more horsepower. 4.10 gears will make you feel like you have a lot more horsepower, and can be purchased & installed for $400-500. Spending another $500 or so on some of the better bolt-ons in conjunction with the gears will really make her come alive.

to make a lot of horsepower, no matter what route, costs.
