I am looking at buying a hand held tunner and this is the model i was thinking about getting. Can you see live data like timing advance, rpms, ect?

Yes.

You can either view the data live on the tuner itself, record it then offload it to a computer for later viewing, or stream the data to a laptop in realtime and view the data using a program of theirs.

The diablosport predator is the best tuner if you are going to tune yourself... basic tuning like adjusting gears, timing, and fuel. The predator also has the most aggressive generic tune which is great for N/A cars. You will pick up 3-4 10ths in the 1/4 mile. If you are going to get a custom tune I would get the SCT tuner because it is more forgiving when tuning on a dyno.

Keep an eye in the parts for sale section for one, I bought mine off some dude for $190 shipped. I've seen them sell for as low as $180 shipped, usually they sell for $200-220.

Just make sure it's a U7145, and make sure it's unlocked.

 

does the cable to connect the tuner and laptop come with the package?

 

No, it's just a regular serial cable, you can pick one up at any computer store.

 

i looked on the website and the tuner i have isnt on the list. i have the U7146 and its not on there. so i cant use the program? what program do i use then?

Looks like it'll work on any 99-04 Mustang except Terminators.
