soooo...ive been wanting to get a cb for a while now..im not getting the dreaded whip on my car tho...i wanna go a cleaner route..i think maybe this might work..i dunno i was gonna ask some of u ..if u knew..will a cb antenna work say mounted under the car like my rocker panel...?..good question isnt it...i just didnt wanna spend the money and it not work..im also gonna get the handheld cb...which will also be much cleaner in the car..i can run all the wiring under my seat thru the floor to connect to the antenna underneath and my mic will come up in between my seat and the console..trying to keep it discreet..ne way if anyone knows ...much appreciated!

your range will be the car next to you ...could use an amp but still the range ...ugh
they make ones that will use the car antenna and it sucks but you cannot hide an antenna and hope to get range. They use to do that with fm radio ...I cant think of a car that still does it that way.
So I would say it depends on what your trying to accomplish ...if its having a cb with a hidden install use a hand held would be my opinion.
