So the other day I heard a very very faint ticking sound. And the last night it became very definate that it was a tick, very fast tick . Well i checked my oil and it was Very low, i filled it up with oil and its still ticking. Only during exceleration, and it seems more prominent in a lower rpm range. I was just wondering what the ticking sound could be. its a very rapid tick. My car is a 01 gt with 63,000 miles. Thanks for any info.

 

The ticking sound could be some type of explosive device with a timer. I would get rid of your car immediately...

My car does it too..... but only when its cold.. after it warms up it doesn't do it...

 

Valvetrain noise. That sucks. But seroously, how can you hear anything over that damn exhaust? Ha ha. [8D]

 

how much would it cost to fix the valve train

 

Check for an exhaust leak.
